I'm Michael and find myself here after watching a couple politics rants on YouTube. 🤷
I'm impressed with the info density of those videos. In my experience such an acerbic tone is rarely coupled to incisive thinking and data abundance. 😉
After a quick survey of the offerings I imagine I can benefit most from this community by providing a support role. I worked as a professional software engineer, am highly skilled in abstract tools like problem analysis and solutions patterns, while able to self-teach some particular practical skill when the need and interest arises... To put it differently, I have a lot of experience looking over the shoulder of a colleague and helping to identify the confusion! 😁
Back in the day, I was part of a team who brought to market Internet-connected out-of-the-home entertainment kiosks: jukeboxes and gaming devices in bars and restaurants. Our company was first to achieve this, and our design enabled a transformation to this industry, allowing a guy sweating to operate 5 jukeboxes to be able to manage 25 or more with ease.
With this project complete, transitioned from startup and launch to maintenance mode, I realized something about myself. I don't wanna think of myself as the sort who REDUCES the number of quirky small business owners in a community like these entrepreneurs who own and manage jukeboxes in a handful of local venues. In fact I think we could use more of these types and less of the rent-seekers who only think of jukeboxes as a source of relatively passive income.
So there's a couple data points about myself. I'm curious to meet you, and if there's a concept or exercise that's got you baffled maybe my experience could be of use.
